Watching the news today, you may be tempted to think that the world is getting worse and worse for our grandkids. But as I reflect on the news of our day and compare with the news from the past I do see some striking similarities. More than 20 years ago, people experienced disease, social unrest and political factions. They lived in the darkness and desperately needed a savior. Sound familiar?
But here’s the good news — Jesus came to dispel darkness and destroy sin, death and despair. So instead of grumbling about the latest headlines from cable news, tell your grandkids the good news that Jesus Christ was born.
