Effective teams share a common vision and passion. This core team of the Legacy Coalition is absolutely amazing – they are all veteran ministry leaders who are deeply devoted to creating a national movement of intentional Christian grandparents. All work from their homes, volunteering their time and lending their exceptional skills to our mission. Together, they conduct a national conference, create resources, administer local seminars, lead teams, and make our young organization hum!

Founder, Legacy Coalition
Larry Fowler is the founder of the Legacy Coalition. His vision for a national Grandparenting Ministry brought together a gifted team of Family, Children's, and Youth Ministry leaders to launch this movement of God. Under his leadership, the Legacy Coalition is being used all across America to inspire grandparents to become more intentional, and their churches to launch grandparenting ministries. His 40 years plus of ministry include experience as youth pastor, part of the Awana staff as missionary, training staff, international director, and Executive Director of Training. He has extensive international experience, training children's workers in 47 countries. Larry has authored books on children's and family ministry and is a regular main stage speaker and workshop presenter at conferences. In 2012, he was recognized for his lifetime of contribution to children's ministry in America by the International Network of Children's Ministry, with their national Legacy Award.
Diane Fowler has partnered with her husband, Larry, in life and in ministry, and loves complementing him by handling administrative work and serving behind the scenes. She also loves being a team leader in preschool ministry at her local church, especially when one of her grandsons is in the group! Diane balances serving as the administrative assistant for the Legacy Coalition with taking care of their three littlest grandsons three times a week. She and Larry have two children and seven grandchildren and live in Riverside, California.
Director of Business Operations
Steven Bradford has enjoyed a diverse career with experiences spanning for profit companies and non-profit organizations. He was employed in the Pharmaceutical Industry from 1977 through 2006 with roles covering Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Operations both in the US and International markets. In 2006 Steve joined Prison Fellowship Ministries (PFM) and was later appointed Vice President of the newly formed Colson Center, a dependent subsidiary of PFM. Steve left the Colson Center to begin consulting work through Three Cords Strong, an LLC set up along with his daughter, Christine Franklin. Steve and his wife Tina have three children and six grandchildren and live in Maryland.
Director of Development
Ministry has been part John’s life early on and he’s been at it for 50 years. A pastor’s kid growing up in Oregon, he was involved in music and youth ministry throughout college and seminary. Jacque, his childhood sweetheart and wife of 50 years and he ministered alongside each other in the early years in Long Beach and then Santa Barbara, California. Now that they have gotten older (not old!), they have been pastoring ‘experienced adults’ at the First Evangelical Free Church) in Fullerton, CA where they have served for the past 30 years. John and Jacque have 8 grandchildren. They call them Papa and Grammy.
Director of Finances
Terry has primarily served as a senior leader and manager in ministry organizations and Christian companies who serve churches and ministries in the U.S. His responsibilities encompassed Operations Management, Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Project Management. Roughly half of Terry’s career has been in banking and the other half in Christian publishing as the chief operating officer and chief financial officer. He worked with organizations such as Bethany International, Gospel Light Publications and ECCU as the Credit Manager. Terry holds an MBA from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.
Director of Connections
Jane and her husband Scott, are in full time Christian camping where Scott is the Executive Director. This has been the perfect ‘fit’ as it has allowed Jane to use her experience and gifts in children’s ministry while serving alongside her husband. Jane has taught Children’s Ministry Seminars around the country and is a speaker at camps, retreats, and women’s ministry events. Jane has the joy of being home with their three children, Alex, Blake, and Emma Grace. She is a true city-girl who has found the sweetest joys in rural Iowa, including a darling cow painting that sits right next to her coffee maker!
Director of Resources
Josh Mulvihill is the Executive Director of Church and Family Ministry at Renewanation, where he equips parents and grandparents to disciple their family and coaches church leaders to train children with a biblical worldview. Josh has served as a pastor for nearly 20 years, is a founding member of the Legacy Coalition, and has a PhD from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author or editor of numerous books including Biblical Grandparenting, Equipping Grandparents, Preparing Children for Marriage, Roots Kids Worship and Rooted Kids Curriculum. Josh is married to Jen, they have five children, and live in Minnesota. Josh blogs at GospelShapedFamily.com.
Director of Seminars
Brenda Peitzman is the director of local seminars for the Legacy Coalition. Her experience as a business owner and national women's ministry leader has equipped her to coordinate the Grandparenting Matters seminar in churches throughout the United States. Brenda and her husband Bob moved from central Iowa to Frisco,Texas in 2015 to be close to their two daughters and three of their six young grandchildren. They love every opportunity they have to visit their son and his family in Franklin Tennessee.
Director of Conferencing
Wayne serves as our Director of Conferencing and leads the team for our nationally acclaimed Legacy Grandparenting Summit. He is the co-founder (with Mike Yaconelli) of Youth Specialties, a ministry providing resources and training for youth workers all over the world. Wayne has authored dozens of books on youth ministry and parenting and received the Gold Medallion award from the Evangelical Press Association for his book Up Close and Personal: Building Community in Youth Groups. Wayne is also a musician who has performed with several award-winning country and bluegrass bands including Brush Arbor and Lighthouse. Since 1976 he has hosted a weekly radio program featuring bluegrass music on KSON-FM, San Diego’s top-rated country music station. Wayne and his wife Marci live in Alpine, California and have three grown children and (so far) five grandchildren.
Director of Prayer
Sherry retired from teaching in order to be her mom’s caregiver. During that time she spent her free time writing. Her first novel, The Christmas Bracelet, is an “ashes to beauty” holiday tale. Four years later, when the Lord carried her mom home, the aftershock from her retirement occurred and she search for renewed purpose. Sherry was assigned the task of writing an article about Legacy Coalition for her diocesan newspaper and attended Legacy Coalition’s first meeting in August, 2015. God awakened her to a new purpose -- to pass a legacy, a spiritual inheritance, onto our grandchildren. Sherry's life in rural South Carolina is simple and beautiful. She and her husband Sammy have been married for thirty-four years.
Director of Technology
Tom Streelman and his wife, Terri, live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Originally from Michigan, they travel there frequently to visit their children and 6 grandchildren. Tom managed the data center for a large non-profit organization before freelancing in his own web design business. At the Legacy Coalition, Tom manages our technology and online operations. If you can pry him away from his computer you'll probably find him on the ski slopes in the winter or on mountain trails in the summer.
