Do you remember what you were like as a ten year old child? I do. Maybe you were quiet and outgoing, obedient or mischievous. Oh, I was that challenging kid. My antics frustrated my parents, teachers and youth leaders and brought some to tears and some to tearing out their hair air.
But now, as a grandparent, I look back and recognize there were older men and women in my life who chose to love and bless me even when I didn’t deserve it. And that’s what our grandkids need from us. They need a relationship with a loving, caring adult. Someone who will love them when they are unlovable the same way God loves us. Let that be.
