From time to time, we hear unbelievers speak of God as a cosmic killjoy, or that He’s unkind and uncaring.
However, the very coming of Jesus at Christmas was “when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared” (Titus 3:4).
Christmas is when kindness appeared.
Kindness came in human form, the Person of Jesus Christ, God with us in the flesh. It was God’s joy to manifest His kindness in the birth of His beloved Son.
This Christmas, ponder the kindness of God at Christ’s birth– the kindness of God that resulted in what the rest of Titus 3 says… “that He might save us… not based on deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy.”
We all know the Christmas carol, “O Come Let Us Adore Him”… so how about this?
Discuss at your Christmas gathering the many things that displayed the kindness of God when Christ was born. Then take what you know of Jesus and worship Him by singing together… “O COME LET US ADORE HIM!”
For indeed He is worthy of worship for His kindness that appeared at His coming.
