Strained Relationships

Grandparenting can be a joyful season of life, but when relationships with adult children become strained, it can also be a season of heartbreak. So how do we hold on without damaging our relationships? Well, ask your children to share their expectation of you and then share what you’re hoping for. Keep the focus on how you want to help and keep talking until you all agree. Finally, develop trust by sticking to the agreement.

Grandparenting is an important part of God’s plan to shape the next generation. I encourage you to be intentional about building and maintaining those relationships so that you can enter into the God-ordained role and blessing God has for you.
