Find Us Faithful

Leaving a Legacy of Faith for Generations to Come

All of these songs point to our faithfulness in leaving a legacy of faith for our grandchildren and those who’ve yet to come.  From Bible stories we share to bedtime blessings we give, the very way we live out our faith impacts our grandchildren whether they are near or far from us. May all who come behind us find us faithful!

All of these artists are grandparents and have donated their music to make this project possible. Please check out their websites for more wonderful music!

We’re pilgrims on the journey of the narrow road
And those who’ve gone before us line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God’s sustaining grace

Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses
(Let us) run the race not only for the prize
But as those who’ve gone before us
Let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness
Passed on through Godly lives

Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone,
And our children sift thru all we’ve left behind,
May the clues that they discover,
And the mem’ries they uncover,
Become the light that leads them to
The road we each must find.

When it was dark and I was scared
I felt safe when he was there
He’d take my hand, kneel by my bed
Close his eyes and bow his head
Then he would say a simple prayer
Tell me God is always there
Rest in him, he will always keep you safe

His voice was strong
His heart was kind
His words were full of faith
The first time I saw Jesus
Was when grandpa prayed

So when it is dark and you are scared
Don’t you worry I’ll be there
I’ll take your hand, kneel by your bed
Close my eyes and bow my head
And I will say a simple prayer
And tell you God is always there
Rest in him, he will always keep you safe

Sleepy head, it’s time to go to bed,
It’s been a long, long day.
She says, Grammy why? Then she rolls her eyes,
“I just really want to play.”
My little one, you’ve had your fun
It’s time to say goodnight.
So hug your bear and say your prayers
And let’s turn down the light.

I want you to dance and dream
And grow up strong,
God has a plan for you.
I want you to love and laugh and sing YOUR song.
I know He’ll see you through.

But more than drowsy dreams,
The only ones that seem,
To play while you’re asleep.
I pray that dreams for you, really do come true,
And are just within your reach.
When you’re on your own, and far from home,
My love will always be there.
You’ll feel me whisper in your ear,
And hear this quiet prayer.

My little one, you’ve had your fun
It’s time to say goodnight.
So hug your bear and say your prayers
And let’s turn down the light.

When storms rage on and earth gives way
When waters roar and mountains quake
When floods of fear come pounding hard
The Spirit moves, confirms in us

The faith by which we stand
The faith that we hold fast
Quenches every fiery doubt
Not moved by winds of man
We believe God’s word is true
And trust His mighty power
The rock of any hope we have
The faith by which we stand

The thief would come to kill, destroy
And plotting ways to steal our joy
Through the myriad of lies
We place our confidence in Christ

Our God is faithful through it all
Our help and strength, Immanuel
Now until He comes again
We will wholly lean on Him

There’s a way that a child can look at the world
see through the eyes of the heart
they see meaning beyond the mystery
hear the silence of the stars

So close your eyes so you can see
the way he meant this world to be
and understand with a child like heart
the place we end is where we start

The child is the father of the man
it’s the paradox of god’s design
so if you would be grown up and mature
let the light of your childhood shine

And close your eyes so you can see
What it must have been like to be
a little girl or boy who knows
and walks with Jesus as they grow

From runny noses to spilling milk
They come into your life
They steal your heart and
Mess up your house
But you don’t seem to mind
Reading stories, saying prayers
Jumping in the leaves
You know the call upon your life
For such precious times as these

Grandma looks good on you
God sees everything you do
His calling is sweet,
His promise is true
Grandma looks good on you

God’s faithfulness throughout the years
Has strengthened you each day
As little ones have grown up strong
In wisdom and in grace
Those Bible stories you shared each time
And prayers you always prayed
Have led them to trust in God alone
And live a life of faith

Grandpa looks good on you
God sees everything you do
His calling is sweet,
His promise is true
Grandpa looks good on you

Jesus looks good on you!

Sea Of Glass Music

She sits in the day room mid garlands of flowers,
Sits and she reads there for hours and hours
Sometime she touches her old wedding ring,
She keeps by her heart on an old piece of string

She doesn’t have much to do in a day,
Her children are grown, her friends gone away
Her heart is still full though she is alone,
And something inside knows she’ll soon be at home

She thinks of the man who was the love of her life.
Her memories are clear of when she was a wife,
She thinks of the love that she shared with one man,
She has no regrets

The Bible that sits on the chair by the bed,
Has never been idle, it’s always been read
It’s been the guide, the course of her life,
Living and active, and sharp as a knife
Her constant companion as she’s run the race,
It’s seen her through every trial she’s faced
Now that she’s come to the cross road of life,
Her treasure’s in heaven above

She’s never seen London or traveled to France,
She wouldn’t have gone there if she’d had the chance
So happy to be where she knew she belonged,
She just danced in place
Many things in her life she did not understand,
But she always knew she was safe in his hands
Constantly fervently seeking His face
He would always hear

Once again she is a sweet blushing bride
Now that she’s passed to the other side
She’s entered the gates, she’s walked to his side
She’s seen his face

They came in great numbers, they all gathered round
They passed by the casket and slowly looked down
At the fragile old shell that once held her earthbound
They know she’s finally home

He is good! He is good
His love endures forever
Give thanks for He is good!

For His unfailing love
And His wonderful deeds
Give thanks! Give thanks to the Lord!

He is good! He is good!
Oh, let all generations
Give thanks for He is good!

When your mother told me you were on the way
From that moment on I couldn’t wait
I just knew that you would change my world
And now I thank God everyday for you

You’re my joy, my pride
Oh my heart is bursting open
I can’t hold this love inside
It’s filling me to overflowing
I’m blessed to have this gift
That has crowned me with such hope
You should always know
You’re my pride and joy

I won’t say that you can do no wrong
But you can call my house your second home
Yes, I’m sure to spoil you now and then
But I’m still your Grandma first before we’re friends

You’re the special part I didn’t know our family was missing
And you stole our hearts right from the start by simply existing

My oh my how the time does fly
It just slips away
I used to be a younger man
Just yesterday
Not long ago time moved so slow
Now the years they just blow by
Here I stand an older man
Oh my how the time does fly

Methuselah was the oldest man
Who ever walked the earth
Nine hundred and sixty nine years he lived
Well what was his time worth
When he finally came to the end of the trail
He looked up to the sky
Drew a breath spoke his last
And said my how the time does fly

First a baby then a boy
Then I became a man
Married young and had some kids
Such a wondrous plan
Now our children have some children too
And Ava’s number five
Now we hold hands and watch our grands
And say my how the time does fly

You are my best friend
Thanks for the time you spend
On lovin me, and the money
I could never repay
All that you do each day
To take care of me
It’s almost scary

Can you see it in my eyes
It’s hard for me to disguise
More and more I realize
How blessed I am, You made me who I am

I’m proud, I’m free, to be part of this family
I want you to know, you’re so precious to me
I’m proud, I’m free, to be all I can be
I owe it all to you, my family

Why do you care so much
I feel it in every touch
When you’re holding me
Never let go of me
I hope you feel it too
I don’t say it enough to you
Please hear me, I love you dearly

Can you see it in my eyes
It’s hard for me to disguise
More and more I realize
How blessed I am, You made me who I am

On holidays we have big fun
Then celebrate what Christ has done
And then we feed the homeless ones too
His special love is in the air
The one you teach throughout the year
That’s why I sing, I sing this song to you

I love you when you’re near
I love you when you’re far
And in the in between
You’re always in my heart

And through the longest miles
And in my deepest prayers
May God watch over you
And keep you in his care

 No matter where you are
Or what you’re going through
Call on him and he will be
Always there for you

He loves you when you’re near
He loves you when you’re far
And the greatest gift you’ll ever know
Is Jesus living in your heart!
