Larry Fowler is the founder of the Legacy Coalition. His vision for a national Grandparenting Ministry brought together a gifted team of Family, Children's, and Youth Ministry leaders to launch this movement of God. Under his leadership, the Legacy Coalition is being used all across America to inspire grandparents to become more intentional, and their churches to launch grandparenting ministries. His 40 years plus of ministry include experience as youth pastor, part of the Awana staff as missionary, training staff, international director, and Executive Director of Training. He has extensive international experience, training children's workers in 47 countries. Larry has authored books on children's and family ministry and is a regular main stage speaker and workshop presenter at conferences. In 2012, he was recognized for his lifetime of contribution to children's ministry in America by the International Network of Children's Ministry, with their national Legacy Award.

Ministry has been part of John and Jacque Coulombe’s lives as they’ve served together in Southern California (Long Beach, Santa Barbara & Fullerton, California) for 50 years. Both are graduates of Judson Baptist College and BIOLA University. John is also a graduate of Talbot School of Theology and Jacque now a retired elementary school teacher. They teach and share out of their own life experiences, since they have become older (not old!). Their married sons have given them eight grandchildren. John has been pastoring ‘experienced adults’ at First EvFree in Fullerton, CA for the past 30 years. John’s present title is interGen Pastor, focused on bringing together the generations and ending the segregation, so common in many churches today with specialized ministries.

John has been featured on Focus on the Family, TBN, TLN and CBN television networks and Christian radio talk shows. He was involved for years leading CASA (Christian Association of Serving/Senior Adults), and most recently working with the Legacy Coalition, a newly founded ministry focusing on intentional Christian grandparenting.  John and Jacque have 8 grandchildren. They call them Papa and Grammy.

Josh Mulvihill is the Executive Director of Church and Family Ministry at Renewanation, where he equips parents and grandparents to disciple their family and coaches church leaders to train children with a biblical worldview. Josh has served as a pastor for nearly 20 years, is a founding member of the Legacy Coalition, and has a PhD from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author or editor of numerous books including Biblical Grandparenting, Equipping Grandparents, Preparing Children for Marriage, Roots Kids Worship and Rooted Kids Curriculum. Wayne serves as our Director of Conferencing and leads the team for our nationally acclaimed Legacy Grandparenting Summit. He is the co-founder (with Mike Yaconelli) of Youth Specialties, a ministry providing resources and training for youth workers all over the world. Wayne has authored dozens of books on youth ministry and parenting and received the Gold Medallion award from the Evangelical Press Association for his book Up Close and Personal: Building Community in Youth Groups. Wayne is also a musician who has performed with several award-winning country and bluegrass bands including Brush Arbor and Lighthouse. Since 1976 he has hosted a weekly radio program featuring bluegrass music on KSON-FM, San Diego’s top-rated country music station. Wayne and his wife Marci live in Alpine, California and have three grown children and (so far) five grandchildren.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, classically-trained pianist and composer Fernando Ortega introduced a rare and refreshing approach to the pop-oriented direction of contemporary Christian music. Deftly entwining thoughtful folk melodies with Celtic, bluegrass, classical and Latin American influences, he has become one of the world’s most popular and beloved Christian artists. His 1997 album This Bright Hour received overwhelming critical acclaim. Three Gospel Music Association Dove Awards followed. John grew up in an atheist household and spent much of his adult life exploring various secular philosophies until accepting Jesus' lordship in his life at age 53. He is a licensed psychologist but rejects psychology's view of human nature. His syndicated parenting column appears in approximately 200 newspapers nationwide and his books, 20 and counting, have sold millions. His non-psychological (i.e. biblically-based) parenting presentations are much in demand and known for being entertaining as well as insightful and helpful. John and his wife of 50 years, Willie, live in New Bern, NC. They have two adult children and seven grandchildren. Bruce Peppin has a Master of Divinity degree from Talbot School of Theology and a degree in business management. He served in executive leadership with Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs for 31 years. After nearly derailing in midlife, Bruce spent over a decade developing scriptural principles to inspire people to finish well for the Lord. He wrote a book on the topic titled The Best Is Yet to Be (David C Cook, ©2015). He is thrilled to be a grandparent and part of the Legacy Coalition speaking team. He and his wife, Kathleen, live in Texas and have two grown children, a daughter-in-law, and three grandsons (Lincoln, Hiland and Rhyder).

Rev. Chuck Stecker, Ph.D. is the President and Founder of A Chosen Generation & The Center for InterGenerational Ministry. Chuck is an ordained minister of the Gospel and has earned a Ph.D. in Communications specializing in Christian Leadership. Chuck served in the US Army for over 23 years in various key leadership and staff positions, including 3 years on the Joint Staff in the Pentagon. Chuck has served the Lord in the local church in various ministry and leadership positions. He served with Promise Keepers for three years as a Regional Director and then launched A Chosen Generation.

Chuck combines years of business experience, military service and over 20 years of full-time vocational ministry to help churches and ministries develop clear strategies to equip, train, empower and release a new generation of leaders.  He has a passion to see churches return to truly intergenerational communities. Chuck authored Men of Honor Women of Virtue, contributed as an author to The Effective Men’s Ministry, The Men’s Bible and several journals and periodicals on the subjects of InterGenerational strategies and leadership. Chuck has taught and spoken several universities and seminaries.

He has been married to Billie for over 40 years; they have three married children who have blessed them with four incredible granddaughters and four grandsons.

David Pendleton’s flawless technique as a ventriloquist sets him apart from just about any other ventriloquist you have ever seen. Glen and Ellen Schuknecht have been married for 43 years and currently reside in Manchaca, Texas nearby their 3 married children and 11 grandchildren.  Together, they are authors of the book A Spiritual Heritage, released, by Kregel Publications.  Glen served for six years as the Head of Student Discipline and Discipleship at Veritas Academy in Austin, Texas. His career includes 42 years of teaching and coaching, of which 36 years were in public schools both in Oregon and Texas. Ellen is Head of Family Ministries at Veritas Academy and is the director of Family Wings Consulting LLC. She has contributed to several books on parenting and education, and has appeared on Focus on the Family with her daughter, Erin MacPherson.  In their younger years, Glen and Ellen worked with Young Life and On Track Ministries in Oregon. Currently they serve as SYMBIS facilitators (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) for their church and they present “Grandparenting Matters” seminars for the Legacy Coalition.

Jean Thomason (Also known as “Miss PattyCake”) exists to share God’s BIG LOVE with little lives, and help parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers teach God’s Word through music, stories, scripture, and fun activities. She does this through biblically based resources and live appearances, and assists in the Kingdom work of spiritual formation in children, laying a foundation for salvation and helping them to establish a biblical worldview.

Dr. Jim Smith is President of Pacific Church Network and is also pastor of San Antonio Heights Community Church in Upland, CA.  He has lived in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and, in 1995, moved to California.  He was a Bible Theology major at Moody Bible Institute, received a B.A. in Psychology from Trinity College, and his M.Div, and D.Min from International Seminary. Vicki grew up in Illinois and graduated from Moody Bible Institute where she also met her husband, Jim. As a pastor's wife for many years, Vicki has served in different ministries throughout the local church. A gifted and dynamic speaker, Vicki has been privileged to minister and speak at numerous events throughout the country including Marriage Conferences, Women's Retreats and Women's Ministry Events. Jim and Vicki have been married since 1978, have four married children and ten fantastic grandkids.

In 1972 Jim Rice and his brothers Joe and Wayne formed a country band called Brush Arbor. They were immediately signed by Capitol Records and were dubbed “The Voice of the New Country” appearing on the Grand Ole Opry, the “Hee Haw” TV Show, and tours with Merle Haggard, Charlie Rich, the Everly Brothers, Marty Robbins, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. In 1973, they won the Academy of Country Music Award for “Vocal Group of the Year” and “Best Touring Band.” For more than 25 years, Jim Rice led Brush Arbor, blending gospel music with bluegrass and country-rock influences to produce more than a dozen critically-acclaimed albums. While the group officially disbanded in 1999, Jim and multi-instrumentalist Mike Wilson continue to perform the songs and sound of Brush Arbor.

John Stonestreet serves as president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He’s a sought-after author and speaker on areas of faith and culture, theology, worldview, education and apologetics. Since 2012, John and Eric Metaxas have co-hosted BreakPoint, the nationally syndicated commentary on the culture founded by the late Chuck Colson. He is also the voice of the Point, a daily one-minute radio feature on worldview, apologetics and cultural issues. Before coming to the Colson Center in 2010, John served in various leadership capacities with Summit Ministries and was on the biblical studies faculty at Bryan College (TN). John has co-authored four books: A Practical Guide to CultureRestoring All ThingsSame-Sex Marriage, and Making Sense of Your World: A Biblical Worldview. Larry McCall, the director of Walking Like Jesus Ministries, was gripped by God’s saving grace at an early age and had the amazing privilege of being discipled by his Christian parents and by other mentors in his home church. In 1975 Larry married Gladine, his sweetheart since high school days. They have three married children and six much-loved grandchildren. Larry also has had the joy of serving on the pastoral team of Christ’s Covenant Church of Winona Lake, Indiana since 1981. He has written a number of articles and is the author of the soon-to-be-released Grandparenting with Grace: Living the Gospel with Next Generation (New Growth Press) as well as Walking Like Jesus Did and Loving Your Wife as Christ Loves the Church (BMH Books). He is a graduate of Grace College, Grace Theological Seminary and has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He gets his batteries charged in serving Christ followers through helping them see in clear, practical, gospel-centered ways how to pursue Christ and reflect him in daily life.

She is a registered nurse, but her true passion has played out in over thirty years of teaching children in the church.  Her husband is Steve Carter, a retired general surgeon.  They are parents to 4 sons and grandparents to 13 grandchildren.  Currently they are the volunteer coordinators at the Creation Museum in Northern, KY.

Scott Wesley Brown is a veteran Christian artist and worship leader with 25 albums, nine number one songs on Christian radio and concert ministry in over 50 countries worldwide plus every state in the USA. His music has been recorded by Sandi Patty, Bill Gaither and Petra, as well as Placido Domingo. Scott’s song, “He Will Carry You” has been translated into many languages and his newest album “The Balladeer” continues his legacy as a prolific Christian singer & songwriter! He is co-writer of the song “Grandprints” (with Bruce Carroll) and is coordinating a new album of songs by various artists about grandparenting for the Legacy Coalition. In addition to all that, Scott serves as the worship leader at Sky Valley Chapel in Desert Hot Springs, California and partners with ministries including The Jesus Film Project, World Vision and Compassion International.

For more than 15 years, Steve and Valerie were heard regularly on Christian radio—as co-hosts for The Chapel of the Air—a quarter-hour nationally-syndicated daily broadcast on 500 stations across North America.

Steve is a former pastor who currently serves as Executive Vice President of the Willow Creek Association (WCA). He is a popular speaker and author of numerous books including Reversing Self-Destructive Patterns; Two are Better Than One; Back to Your Spiritual Future; Real Survivors: Finding Hope and Courage in Times of Crisis.

Valerie is a gifted communicator and ministry leader who has authored nine books herself including Reaching Out to Lonely Kids; Getting Out of Your Kids’ Faces and into Their Hearts; and A Well-Tended Soul. She is also author of An African Awakening: My Journey into AIDS Activism, a collaborative project with World Vision. For seven years she served on the Board of Directors of MOPS International and in 2012 she joined the Board of Directors for Awana. Since early 2016 has been serving as CEO of Awana Clubs International.

Together, Steve and Valerie have written two Moody Press books, Made to Be Loved: Enjoying Spiritual Intimacy with God and Your Spouse and Faith-Shaped Kids: Helping Your Child Grow Spiritually. The Bells live in Kildeer, Illinois and have six grandchildren.

Sylvia Taylor-Stein is an artist and songwriter who has a special gift for poetry. She wrote her first poem when she was 8 and continued to write through her years in school and college. Sylvia’s great love for heroes and heroines in the Bible began when she was 5 years old, sitting at her Grandma Lottie’s kitchen table in her Smoky Mountain home and listening to her graphic and fascinating storytelling of Bible stories. It was her Grandma who instilled in her a love for the heroes and heroines of the Bible, and it is this legacy her Grandma gave her that led to the creation of Bible Times in Riddles & Rhymes. She currently has a book in the works for single mothers raising sons, entitled Teaching Boys to Catch. She also serves as Executive Director of Long Term Services Ombudsman Program of Ventura County where she advocates for residents in long term care facilities. Sylvia and her husband, Marc, live in Southern California and have five children and three grandchildren.

His driving passion is helping every generation flourish in bringing the greatness of God to the next generation. Dr. Walt Mueller is the founder and President of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding (CPYU), a non-profit organization serving schools, churches, and community organizations across the U.S, Canada, and worldwide in their efforts to strengthen families by helping those who know and love children and teens to understand today’s rapidly changing youth culture.  Walt has been working with youth and families for over 40 years.  He is the author of nine books, is a regular contributor to a variety of magazines and journals, and is a blogger. Walt’s commentary and analysis on youth culture is heard on 870 radio stations across North America on CPYU’s daily radio program, Youth Culture Today and is the host of the “Youth Culture Matters” podcast. Shauna Amick’s passion for the inherent worth and dignity of every human life was deeply solidified when her third child was diagnosed with Down syndrome, a near fatal heart defect, and a slew of other genetic abnormalities.  As a speaker, author and disability rights advocate, Shauna shares the unique gift of viewing disability challenges through the lens of God’s Word.  She has much to say when it comes to seeing life’s hardships from God’s point of view, encouraging everyone who listens.
