He is a sought-after speaker and media consultant, having appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s World News Tonight, Focus on the Family, and numerous radio programs. Fernando Ortega is a musician, worship leader and recording artist who grew up in Chimayo, New Mexico (a village near the banks of the Rio Grande). He has served in music ministry at a number of churches including a Baptist church in Albuquerque, Congregational Christian and Assemblies of God churches in southern California and the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. He has recorded more than a dozen albums and is well-known for his unique interpretations of many traditional hymns and songs, such as "Give Me Jesus", "Be Thou My Vision" and “Praise to the Lord the Almighty.” He was won numerous Dove awards and many of his compositions have become contemporary Christian classics.

Justin and Phyllis Rice
Justin is a former pastor, Christian education director, music director and hospice chaplain living in Nashville, Tennessee. His wife Phyllis has served in ministry alongside Justin and has been a piano teacher for more than 50 years. Justin and Phyllis have three children and seven grandchildren who live in Atlanta, Georgia, Glendale, California and Vancouver, Washington. They are experienced intentional long-distance grandparents. Justin Rice and the Legacy Coalition’s Wayne Rice are second cousins.

Wayne Rice has been active in youth ministry, family ministry and grandparenting ministry for over 50 years. He is the co-founder of Youth Specialties, the nation’s leading provider of resources and training for youth ministry professionals. He is also creator of Understanding Your Teenager seminars, former Pastor to Generations at College Avenue Baptist Church in San Diego, and currently Conference Director for the Legacy Coalition. Wayne has authored or co-authored dozens of books including his most recent, Long Distance Grandparenting: Nurturing the Faith of Your Grandchildren When You Can’t Be There in Person (Bethany House). She’s been married to her soul mate for thirty-four years. Her heart soars when the voices of their three sons, three daughters-in-love and three grandchildren fill their home.
President, The Colson Center
John serves as president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He is a popular speaker on such topics as faith and culture, theology, worldview, education and apologetics. He is the daily voice of BreakPoint, the nationally syndicated radio feature founded by the late Chuck Colson. Before coming to the Colson Center in 2010, John served in various leadership capacities with Summit Ministries and was on the biblical studies faculty at Bryan College. John has co-authored four books including A Practical Guide to Culture, Restoring All Things, Same-Sex Marriage, and Making Sense of Your World: A Biblical Worldview. He and his wife, Sarah, have four children and live in Colorado Springs, CO.
David grew up in parsonages in Tennessee, Illinois, and Ohio. He graduated from Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in 1973, received his Master of Ministry degree in 1985, and received his Master of Arts in Leadership in 2005.
David has served in several local churches as youth minister and senior minister. In 1997, he moved to Knoxville (TN) to become the Campus Minister and a professor in the School of Congregational Ministry at Johnson University. He is also a popular speaker for couple’s retreats and leadership seminars, and he conducts “Grandparenting Matters” one-day seminars for the Legacy Coalition.
David and his wife Cathy have been married for 47 years. They have two grown daughters and are now intentional Christian grandparents to three granddaughters and two grandsons.
David’s mission statement is to “love God and enjoy Him forever.” His theme verse is Col. 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
