Nicknames can be fun. What do your grandkids call you? Papa, Grams, Papaw, or maybe Grumpy Grandpa. Ouch! Does that last one hit home? It’s easy to think about aches and pains and focus on what’s wrong, but the Bible says it’s terrible for your health. Take some advice from the Proverbs, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.“
So instead of being “Captain Curmudgeon,” lighten up, have a little fun with your grandkids. Maybe take them out for ice cream and share a few laughs. A sense of humor may be just what the doctor ordered, to improve your health and your relationships with those you love.
Find out how you can leave a legacy for your grandkids because grandparenting matters.
