Christmas is filled with traditions, so it’s the perfect time to start a new tradition that will bless our grandchildren all year long. Try speaking a simple blessing over your grandchildren, like the Levitical blessing from Numbers 6:24-26. “May the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Let’s welcome our grandkids with these words and send them off by pronouncing this blessing over them. Repetition reinforces the message, so make this blessing a regular part of your interactions. Our grandchildren will likely come to expect and look forward to being blessed.
