Listening
Podcasts are a great way to learn. Even if you are on the go, you can take them with you. If you are going for a walk, doing laundry, or driving, listen to a podcast.
Our Legacy Grandparenting Podcast has forty podcasts and counting, so there are many to choose from. Some of the topics covered are healing family relationships, helping your grandson transition from boyhood to manhood, understanding gender confusion, and connecting with grandchildren through prayer. Each of the episodes are around 45 minutes in length.

These webinars will provide you with practical tips and information on grandparenting. You will learn how to nurture your grandchildren’s faith and overcome obstacles you may face. Additionally, you will find encouragement through testimonies from other grandparents.

Legacy Coalition seeks to meet the needs of all different grandparents, and some of you seek community and love to learn alongside others.
Grandparenting Matters might be just what you need. This seminar is great to use as a small group study during Bible discipleship time. It centers on understanding and embracing your role as an intentional Christian grandparent and covers a number of key topics. This 6-session seminar can be purchased as a DVD or digital download along with student workbooks. It can also be hosted in person with one of our facilitators who teaches the material live.

We also have another curriculum resource for small groups and grandparenting ministries called Equipping Intentional Grandparents. The materials include session videos available to stream or download, discussion questions, and physical workbooks.
Right now, you can begin Volume 1 with its 6 two-part sessions, and two more volumes will be available soon. These volumes are a great follow-up to the Grandparenting Matters content.

Hubby and I are just starting up a new Equipping Intentional Grandparents (EIG) Group. While starting preparations for the initial session, I just listened to the EIG video while following along in the accompanying
workbook and noticed that the books content is verbatim everything that’s said word for word in the video!
Is this the case with volumes one and two as well?
Additionally, before we consider the “grandparenting matters” kit or resources, we would like to understand if what we’ll find is this same thing — where both the session video and workbook content are exactly the same?
If that’s the case, it seems it makes a little sense to purchase workbooks on top of watching the video. Persons in groups could simply watch the video, and the facilitator have the workbook in order to lead with the discussion questions within, but the others would not necessarily even need the workbook seeing they are literally one in the same. I’m wishing we would’ve understood this before. Ordering everyone a workbook.

Grandparenting Matters seminar has video as well as embedded Powerpoint slides. There is additional information as well as fill in the blanks in the accompanying workbook. The Equipping Intentional Grandparents is set up a little differently. After teaching it with many churches and gaining input, a decision was made to have the important words or concepts highlighted in bold, so people did not have to try to fill in the blanks. Providing workbooks is a great way to encourage active participation during class as participants highlight, underline, and write in the margins of their book. It also serves as a reference later, containing the workshop along with personal notes. Our experience has shown that allows for better listening and absorbing when not so busy filling in blanks. Praying for you as you encourage and equip grandparents to be more intentional.
