WITH GUESTS
Chrys and John Howard
When someone’s legacy includes decades of faithful ministry as well as a large Christian family with members like Korie Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame and Sadie Roberston Huff, you want to learn from their experience.
Chrys is the author of the best-seller, “Rockstar Grandparent” and co-author of “Rocking it Grand.” John continues to have an expansive career in business.
They will be sharing inspiring stories from their life with plenty of insights for grandparents.
John and Chrys Howard are proud parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. They met at a summer camp in 1967 when Chrys was 14 and John was 15. They married in 1971.
They attended college at Harding University in Arkansas before John joined his family business, Howard Bros Discount Stores, where he served as Vice President. After selling the discount stores, John went on to fully develop Howard Publishing, a Christian Book Publishing business his father has begun as a hobby. Chrys, with a degree in Elementary Education, stayed home with her little ones until they started school, then taught for many years before becoming an editor and creative director at Howard Publishing. Together, they grew the publishing company until it sold in 2006 to Simon and Schuster.
A few years later, John joined the Duck Commander team, a business owned by their daughter, Korie and her husband, Willie, as the company grew through the Duck Dynasty TV show years. Now semi-retired, John sells real estate and represents various authors as a book agent. Chrys has served for over fifty years at the same summer camp that she met her husband and continues to be one of the directors.
When they aren’t busy doing “all the other stuff”, they can be found hanging out with as many of the grands and greats as they can find. John and Chrys live in West Monroe, La. on a “family owned” street where their freezer is full of popsicles and their hearts are full of love.
