Loved the spirit of compassion and competence that Dr. Gillies exhibited.
Heavy information~ a reminder to pray more about this situation!
I’m an elementary librarian in a K-6 more conservative public school in the middle of Ohio.
The last two years we started seeing
trans in with grades 5 & 6, this year it’s a second grader. We now have parents speaking out on both sides of the fence.
Would you have any suggestions for me? Up until now I’ve had the privilege of ordering books I choose.
As far as I know we don’t have trans books in this library. If a student requests one how can I reply in a loving, non judge mental way?
I listened to several of your videos. Thank you for ALL YOU’RE DOING!!
May the Lord keep you daily protected.
Susan, I am forwarding on your question to Ask Dr. Joannie. She should be able to help you. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
I replied to Susan B. but would like to provide a resource for parents and grandparents that could be helpful for those concerned about transgender and other current issues in the schools. This is a free resource from Focus on the Family and it is full of excellent information regarding laws in different states, student and parental rights at school and how to address concerns in helpful and constructive ways.
