#4 on Top Five Things To-Do List

As grandparents, we obviously all know there are things we do and say because we are grandparents, which we would not do or say if we were not grandparents. In my previous post I shared with you the #5 thing on my Grandparents To-Do List . . . Listen to Them. Today I’m thrilled to share with you the #4 thing on my list  . . .

#4 – Smile, Laugh and Play… and be generous with the hugs, kisses and snuggles.

I want my grandsons to remember me as someone who actually enjoyed being around them. They know I am grandma… if my grandsons come within reach, they are likely to receive a hug, kiss or snuggle. It is just the way it is!

Yes, there are things we need to be intentional about doing when it comes to passing on our faith, but having fun with our grandchildren is important, too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having fun with our grandchildren. In fact, everything is right about doing so! Can you imagine the blessing for your grandchildren knowing you left a legacy filled with memories of fun and laughter? I know I want my grandchildren to remember these things. I want them to remember the water-gun wars (I must have a target on my back because they always get me with their water-guns!), I want them to remember the board games, I want them to remember the hugs and snuggles. In other words, I want them to remember how my love for them was displayed through laughter, play, and hugs.

When I think about my Grandparents To-Do List, you can be assured there will be smiles, laughter, play and generous amounts of hugs, kisses and snuggles on my list. What’s on your To-Do list?
